South Island greyhounds should make presence felt
South Island greyhounds should make their presence felt with no less than 33 acceptors for the Wellington Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting at Hutt Park today. Magic Command which will head the south’s invasion is down to run in the E. J. Wing Memorial Challenge Cup, the second T.A.B. trifecta race, but a start is still uncertain for the smart black dog as he was hurt in the catching pens at Hutt Park on Thursday evening. If Magic Command is scratched then the Carterton-trained, Price Required, which has a grand record here, must be hard to beat, and the same can be said for his littermate Personal Call which has the added advantage of drawing box No. 1.
The Derek Coplandtrained Shiny Woman was a little disappointing at Hutt Park on Thursday evening when she was soundly beaten for third, but an improved performance can be expected.
