Branch manager

Mr Wayne Jackson, the manager of the newly established Christchurch branch of Elders Pastoral, is no stranger to Canterbury having spent most of his working life within Mid and North-Canter-bury.

Commencing as an office junior some 22 years ago, he has had considerable experience in the industry. He has held positions of livestock agent, real estate agent, finance officer and branch manager of the former New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association at Rangiora and Ashburton.

Although interested in all aspects of rural servicing activities, he has a special interest in rural finance and the development of the new marketing and servicing techniques to which Elders

Pastoral are committed.

He believes that Elders’ entry into the rural servicing sector will undoubtedly stimulate competition resulting in better servicing of the farming community throughout Canterbury.

Road is considered to be in an excellent location close to the city,, the Riccarton shopping centre, and the Addington market. It has easy access for all types of motor vehicles.

The merchandise, grain, and seeds activities operating from Blenheim Road are supervised by Mr lan Judkins, who is well-known by most of the company’s clients.

In keeping with Elders’ desire to provide a full range of services for its clients, other facilities offered by the branch are insurance, forestry, full rural financial services in-

eluding deposit taking, short term advances, seasonal advances, bridging money, mortgage funds and special projects funding.

In view of Elders’ commitment to increase its position in the rural servicing industry, it is its intention to increase all services in the near future.

These include greater field representation throughout the province; the improvement of existing agencies and the opening of new farm merchandise outlets in various locations, as well as the introduction of new services and technology.
