Gymnast’s success
A Christchurch rhythmic gymnast, Kathryn Hughes, has had outstanding success in the United States and Canada on a tour with the New Zealand junior team. Hughes has won the junior section of three competitions and performed well among senior gymnasts. At the Alberta provincial championships In Canada she was the first junior and also first in the open grade.

In both • these events she was second ; in the open section. ; Hughes, one of the team of i seven New Zealand juniors was ranked fourth when she I left New Zealand, but has i boosted herself to first ranking among the juniors.
