Shore to support Fallon’s appeal
PA • Auckland The North Shore soccer club will support its coach, Kevin Fallon, in his appeal against a $2OO fine imposed by the Auckland Football Association for an alleged verbal attack on its chairman, Frank Thompson.
And the club will also appeal against a $5OO good behaviour bond placed on it by the A.F.A. ,“We are asking the A.F.A. to reconsider the bond,” said North Shore’s chairman, Alan Richards, yesterday. Mr Richards said it was
harsh to implicate his club when Mr Fallon’s call was more personal, although "he had the ' club’s business in mind.” Mr Fallon had telephoned Mr Thompson to ask if his Shore players could be excused from Auckland’s representative
clash with Waikato last week. He was concerned at the risk of injury they were being subjected to with his team leading the national league.
Mr Fallon will appeal to the New Zealand Football Association over his fine, and that appeal will be supported by his club.
