Commuter airline

PA Nelson A new commuter airline, Pacifica Air, will take to the skies on April 27. The manager of the Nelson-based venture, Ms Anita Gardina, said there would be return flights from Nelson to Wellington and Christchurch. At $lO4 a ticket for the Nelson-Christchurch route and $BO for Nelson-Well-ington, the new airline is

slightly cheaper than Air New Zealand and $7 more expensive that Air Nelson on the Nelson-Wellington route. Air Nelson does not fly to Christchurch. Pacifica’s 11-seater Beechcraft Kingair will arrive in Christchurch from Australia tomorrow. The chief pilot, Mr Murray Clarkin, has transferred from Coast Air, which recently closed off its Nelson-Christchurch flight.
