Appeal for Mr Alley
PA Wellington The Government supports a national appeal to help rebuild Mr Rewi Alley’s Shandan Bailie School in China which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1953. The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Palmer, said he had already presented Mr Alley with the Government’s contribution of $150,000. The appeal for a wide range of horticultural, agricultural and educational material is co-ordi-nated by Rotary clubs and Bay of Plenty Community College. r I
