Women’s rep. appointed
PA Masterton Mrs Danna Glendining, of Wairarapa, has been appointed women’s equal opportunities co-ordinator with the State Services Commission.
Mrs Glendining is regional women’s advisory officer in the Social Welfare Department in Lower Hutt.
She said the equal opportunities unit had been upgraded, with co-drdina-tors appointed to monitor and promote equal opportunities for Maoris, the disabled, ethnic minorities, and women.
Mrs Glendining said that as part of the team her aim would be to encourage Government departments to create equal opportunities for women.
