Groynes orienteering

An entry of more than 100 competed in the orienteering events held by the Peninsula and Plains Orienteering Club at the Groynes on Sunday. Six courses were run at the popular picnic spot including one specially for young children. Several water hazards, planned and unplanned, featured on the senior courses. The official ones were no more than knee deep, but some competitors became much more immersed in the task of shortening distances from point to point
