Women’s gym for June finish
Wellington reporter The new gymnasium at the Christchurch Women’s Prison is due to be completed in June, according to the Minister of Justice, Mr Palmer. He was answering questions in Parliament by
Miss Ruth Richardson (Nat., Selwyn). An amount of $lO,OOO was expected for equipment. That expenditure would be considered as part of the total allocation for capital items in penal institutions during 1987-
88. Mr Palmer said the gymnasium was being provided for Inmate programmes but would certainly be used by community groups participating in activities with inmates and staff.
