Stillborn mystery

The police are no closer to finding the mother whose stillborn daughter was found in the Avon River last week.

The girl’s body was found on Monday by a Drainage Board employee using a river dredge on the stretch of river by Locksley Avenue. "The inquiry is in limbo,” said Detective Senior-Sergeant Arthur Rodgers. “We are not going anywhere with it.” He said the only prospect of solving it was if someone came forward with information leading the police to the mother.
