Forestry jobs open—Minister
Wellington reporter There is nothing to prevent people who received voluntary severance from the Forest Service from accepting positions in the new Forestry Corporation. The Minister of State Services, Mr Rodger, said such people would no longer be public servants and so could compete for jobs with other members of the public. But as the Electricity
Corporation had agreed to employ all Electricity Division staff there had been no payments of voluntary severance there. There were certain tax disincentives for people who had taken voluntary severance and then joined a corporation to do virtually the same work as before, he said, and details of these could be obtained from Inland Revenue.
