Cerebos G. 30% profit lift

PA Wellington Cerebos Greggs, Ltd, has increased its profit by 30 per cent to $2,335,000 (last year $1,795,000) for the six months ended January 31. Turnover was $51.5 million . ($34.1 million). Tax took $2,576,000 ($1,216,000). There were no extraordinaries. Interim dividend will be 4.5 c a share (last year 32.5 c) to be paid on April 30. The share price for shareholders taking bonus shares will be 130.5 c. Directors said profit

growth in the first half was considered satisfactory during a relatively difficult trading period. The improvements made by the company extended over the whole group. In the period since January the company had continued to perform well. The annual production of salt from Lake Grassmere for 1987 had just been completed with pleasing results. Directors expected that current year levels of profitability should be maintained for the remainder of the year.
