‘Fluffy frustrations’
By
SELENA WARD,
aged 10,
of Nelson One night when I was sleeping I heard the house start creaking I got a fright In the middle of the night I ran outside and found my bike, and cycled to town with all my might I grabbed the policeman by the thumb and said to him, "Now listen, son’’ I have a creak in my house, and I know it’s not a little grey mouse. It creaks and groans and makes a noise and I know it’s not my rattly toys So on his bike he did jump, So along the road, bump bump, bump Till he reached the
house again, Covered with sweat and cold wet rain In to the hallway we did sneak just to listen and to peek, Through the door and
under the chair A pair of eyes was staring there, With big white whiskers and a fluffy tail It was just the dam cat biting his nails.
