Dispute ends in arrest
A disputeamong flatmates in which a shotgun was allegedly produced resulted in police : surrounding a Barbadoes Street flat "on. Saturday. The. police say the incident arose from an argument between a man and his three flatmates. He allegedly threatened the flatmates with two knives and the police allege also that he pointed a shotgun at them from an upstairs window.
The flatmates alerted the police, : who surrounded the property about 1.15 p.m. ; - The man, who had. left the property, gave himself up to a beat constable in Cathedral Square about 30 minutes later. Two knives and a shotgun were taken from the flat. The man is expected to appear in court today charged with pointing a firearm and possessing offensive weapons.
