DUTIES: Responsible for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of all power stations, pumping stations and switchyards in the Tarraleah Area, except the maintenance of civil engineering components; for the administration and maintenance of the Tarraleah Village; and for the control of all personnel involved. To organise and participate in an availability roster for out of hours supervision of the area. LOCATION: The Tarraleah Area encompasses four power stations: Tarraleah, Tungatinah, Butlers Gorge and Lake Echo, comprising 13 hydro-electric generating sets having a total capacity of 260 MW, and their -associated switchyards; and four pumping stations. The area is administered from the Tarraleah Village, situated 126 km by road from Hobart. The village has 138 houses, single men’s quarters and a Chalet for staff and tourist accommodation. Amenities Include a nine-hole golf course, heated swimming pool, tennis courts, squash, community shopping centre and primary school. HOUSING: The successful applicant will be required to live at Tarraleah where housing is available on a rental basis at standard Commission rates.
