THC appointments
The rapid expansion of the THC chain of hotels has meant the creation of two new executive posts, and a number of executive appointments, according to the chief executive, Mr Mike Hoy. The growth includes the recent purchase of the Remarkables resort hotel in Queenstown, and the opening this year of two further hotels at Auckland airport and at Queenstown.
The three hotels will provide 370 more rooms, and will create 300 more jobs. The two new positions are the general manager of the central region, who will be
Mr Peter Lohmann, and the general manager of the southern region, Mr William Neilsen. Mr Lohmann, who is also general manager of the THC Rotorua, will now be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the THC hotels at Tororua, Waitomo, Wairakei, Chateau Tongariro and Tokaanu.
Mr Neilsen, who is also general manager of THC Te Anau, will be responsible for the Franz Josef, Wanaka, Remarkables, Te Anau and Milford Sound, the new THC Queenstown hotel to open in December this year, and the Milford Track.
