TIMOTHY EMERSON is from Christchurch. He is a second year performance student at the University of Canterbury. He holds ATCL and LTCL diplomas and has been a soloist with the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Orchestra. He plays the double bass, the clarinet and the pipe organ. He will play “Concerto No 1 in E minor” by Chopin.
JILL PEARS is also from Christchurch. She is a student at the University of Canterbury, studying law and commerce. She was a finalist in the National Pianoforte Award in 1982 and 1985 and a finalist in the Christchurch Junior Piano Concerto Competition in 1979, 1982 and 1983. She will play “Concerto in E flat” by John Ireland.
SIU-DEA LAW is from Hamilton and is a final year music student in piano performance at the School of Music at Auckland University. She was born in Hong Kong. Since coming to New Zealand she has been successful in competitions and scholarships in Waikato and Auckland. She also plays the violin. She will play “Concerto No 2 in F” by Shostakovich.
