Recruiter jailed
NZPA-AAP Sydney A former Australian Army captain was sentenced yesterday to 12 months jail with a nonparole period of six months, for trying to recruit a former colonel for a guerrilla mission into Irian Jaya. Gary Roy Scott, aged 41, was found guilty in the District Court at Sydney on Wednesday of trying to recruit Arthur Barry Petersen in mid-1984 to serve in a mission against the Indonesian Government in Irian Jaya. Scott appeared yesterday before Judge Bell, who said it was important that such acts were deterred.
