Dream croquet victory
Kevin Anderson and Mrs Sloan maintained their dream run through qualifying and post section play to win the Agnes Dick memorial croquet doubles tournament yesterday. In the final on the Cashmere green the Anderson-Sloan combination beat Mrs I. Deavoll and Mrs P. Simpson. Concluding results were:—
Semi-finals.— Anderson and Mrs Sloan 26, Mes'r dames M. Sellars and G. Marks 7; V. Coughlan and Mrs E. Cocks 22, Mesdames R. Delaney and K. Gaeth 14; Mesdames Deavoll and Simpson 26, Coughlan and Mrs Cocks 18; Anderson and Mrs Sloan 26, M. Sellars and Mrs L. Meadows 13. Final.— Anderson and Mrs Sloan 26, Mesdames Deavoll and Simpson 17.
