NORTHLAND AREA HEALTH BOARD NORTHLAND BASE HOSPITAL, WHANGAREI NURSING SUPERVISOR AFTERNOON SHIFT, OBSTETRIC UNIT THE 48-BED OBSTETRIC UNIT consists of two 22bed Obstetric wards that operate under a system of open and closed beds with General Practitioners practising under contract. Specialist services in each area are also provided. A 6 cot, level two Newborn Unit, a 4 bed Delivery Suite and Ante-Natal Clinic make up a comprehensive general service with some specialisation. The annual birth rate averages 1200. Applicants should be Registered Comprehensive Nurses and Midwives, or Registered General and Obstetric Nurses and Midwives, with at least 3 years post-graduate experience relevant to the position. The successful applicant will be required to supervise clinical nursing services and provide administrative support on the afternoon shift in the Obstetric Unit. A post-basic diploma or degree is required. Applicants without such a qualification must be prepared to commence post-basic nursing studies within one year of appointment. This is a full time position working 2.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Salary will be in the range of $29,830 to $31,600 plus midwifery allowance.
