PA Wellington A former Bank of New Zealand general manager and chief executive officer, Mr Bruce Smith, has been appointed to the Securities Commission,
the Acting Minister of Justice, Mr Caygill, said. He replaces Mr Peter Stannard who has stood down after eight years. Mr Smith’s banking experience would be particularly valued by the
Securities Commission, Mr Caygill said. Since retiring as general manager and chie executive officer of the bank in 1979 he has been consul-general of New Zealand at New York
