(Wlo GOVERNMENT OF WESTERN SAMOA land and survey department VACANCY LAND VALUER Applications are invited for the position of Land Valuer in the Lands and Survey Department, Apia. Duties and Responsibilities: The appointee will be responsible to the Director of Lands and will be required to undertake the following: (a) draw up legislation regarding valuation (b) streamline the valuation section (c) be able to train local staff with the aim of preparaing them for further studies overseas, and eventually qualify in this field. (d) provide valuation services to the urgent needs of Government and the public in general. (e) introduce computerisation of valuation. This will eliminate having to manually search through all the records in the calculation of a value. (f) any other relevant duties on valuation as required by the Director of Lands. Qualifications: Applicants must be fully qualified Land Valuers with several years experience and would be likely to fall into a more senior age bracket. Salary: The salary is supplemented under the terms of the New Zealand Staffing Assistance Scheme (NZSAS). A local salary is paid by the Government of Western Samoa, which is subject to full local taxation whilst the supplementation portion is paid by the NASAS.
