The Jug sold

Special correspondent,

Palmerston North

The promising Woodville galloper The Jug has been sold to a client of the Sydney trainer Brian Mayfield-Smith. He was an acceptor for the Eastbourne Handicap at Trentham, but will not be starting, according to trainer Bruce Marsh.

A three-year-old gelding by Little Brown Jug, The Jug has proved most consistent with two wins, three thirds and a fifth in six starts. He was raced by Mrs Yolande Hawthorne and has been sent to her husband Norm’s Paramount Stud to await transport to Australia.
