Butchers sire boys more often

NZPA-Reuter London British butchers sire more boys than girls and experts say it could be because they eat more meat. Official statistics show that in 1980-82 for every 100 girls fathered by butchers and meat-cutters there were 121 boys, compared with a national average of 105.6 boys for every 100 girls. Three doctors writing in the medical journal, “The Lancet,” said this could be due to the absorption of male hormones in meat.
