Extradition sought
PA Auckland Detectives will apply for the extradition from Western Samoa of a man they have charged with the murder of Mr Neville Stirling. Evidence in support of the application is expected to be heard in the Otahuhu District Court at Otahuhu on Wednesday. Detective Senior-Ser-geant Peter Mitford-Bur-gess, who is heading the inquiry, said yesterday he hoped to have the Samoaborn man back in the country in about three
weeks. The process worker, aged 23, who has a permanent address in Mangere, was arrested by the police in Western Samoa at the week-end. He left Auckland on February 11, the day after Mr Stirling died in hospital from severe head injuries. Mr Stirling, aged 23, was allegedly bashed by three men in a reserve behind his home in Ferguson Road, Mangere. Two Otara men have already been charged with his murder.
