3ZB in final of awards
The 3ZB radio station in Christchurch is one of three finalists in the Mobil Radio Award metropolitan station of the year category. Finalists for all 28 categories of the awards were announced last week. The winners will be announced on April 22 at a special function in ’Auckland.
The other stations vying for the best metropolitan award with 3ZB are Radio Hauraki, Auckland, and 2ZB, Wellington.
3ZB also features in the sales campaign category, and Ralph van Dijk of C 93 FM, Canterbury’s newest station, is one of three finalists for the best new broadcaster award.
Barry Ross of 3ZC in Timaru is in the best provincial air personality final, and Mildred Woods and Steve Parr, both of Christchurch, are competing for the best radio acting performance.
More than 400 broadcasters entered the awards, which this year feature a new premier award for the broadcaster who has contributed the most to radio in New Zealand during the year.
