Alcohol problems

PA Wellington Some of the world’s most important alcohol and health agencies will meet in Auckland today to examine ways of reducing alcohol problems worldwide. The meeting is co-spon-sored by the World Health Organisation and the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council of New Zealand.

It was the first highlevel W.H.O. meeting on alcohol policy held in New Zealand, Mr Keith Evans, director of A.L.A.C. said yesterday. New Zealand was invited to host the meeting because it was internationally recongised as a world leader in alcohol and public health programmes.
