Crowd of 11,288
While the crowd of 11,288 was double that of either of the two opening nights of the meeting, Metropolitan Trotting Club officials were a little disappointed with the oncourse turnover of $947,754 on the third night of the carnival on Saturday. Of this $3OOB was invested on outside meetings. However, there were six odds-on favourites in the 10 races, a factor not popular with New Zealanders. This probably had a most adverse effect on the turnover, and could have had its effect on the T.A.B. total, which reached $2,222,370.
