A punt glides past the Thomas Edmonds Band Rotunda Restaurant soon after the formal opening on Sunday. The band rotunda was a gift to Christchurch by Thomas Edmonds in 1929. Among the guests were two daughters of the late Mr Edmonds, Mrs Gertrude Williams, who cut the ribbon at the opening, and Mrs Irene Ballantyne.
