$1M grant to university
By JALE MOALA, NZPA correspondent Suva
New Zealand has given $1 million to help the construction of a new campus for the University of the South Pacific at Port Vila, Vanuatu. The campus will house the Pacific law and languages units and the Vanuatu extension centre
of the university. — The money is the first instalment of a big New Zealand contribution towards the construction of the new campus. The Government of Vanuatu has provided the site and the New Zealand Government has agreed to fund the total construction cost of the law languages unite and the ex-
tension centre. The total cost is expected to be between $2.2 million and $2.4 million. The balance of the money will be made available as the cash flow for the project requires. The complex, when completed about May, 1988, will comprise classrooms, offices, a computer room, a library and a conference centre.
