Hospital fire investigated
A doctor and a patient helped to put out a small fire which broke out in a ward of Christchurch Hospital last evening. Fire-safety officers of the Fire Service and the Canterbury Hospital Board are investigating
t the cause of the fire, I which started under the i floor of Ward 11, for kidney patients. “It was actually a f patient who discovered : the fire,” said the medical I superintendent of Christ- ; church Hospital, Dr David
Andrews. A junior doctor was quickly on the scene and played a fire hose on the blaze, helped by the patient. The Fire Service received a call to the hospital at 5.28 p.m.
