RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL SENIOR PLANNER FORWARD PLANNING THIS VACANCY is for a qualified and experienced planner to lead the forward planning section of the Planning Division. The Council has recently commenced a programme to review the district scheme and the senior planner-forward planning will be responsible for co-ordinating this review and associated research projects. The planning division, based at the council’s head office in Orewa, has a staff of ten. The appointee will supervise three planning staff and be responsible to the County Planner. The Rodney County is a rapidly developing and diverse local authority, some 40km north of Auckland, with significant coastal, rural and urban areas. Our planners are currently involved with marinas, coastal development, rural, urban and commercial development, tourism, etc. Applicants should' hold a tertiary qualification in Planning, have minimum of five years planning experience with Local Government, be thoroughly conversant with relevant legislation and have sound supervisory and communication skills.
