Lack of stock closes chain
PA Blenheim Lack of stock forced Waitaki International’s Marlborough plant to close earlier this week, and could lead to further closings or shorter shifts, according to the plant's manager, Mr Frank Davis-Goff.
The works was closed all day Monday, and Thursday was a short day because of insufficient stock to kill.
Mr. Davis-Goff, said the lamb kill was down 40,000 on budget, while the ewe kill was up 32,000.
