Pipe band contest
A record number of Highland pipe bands .is expected to take part in the provincial .pipe band contest at the Addington Show Grounds on Sunday. The chief of the Scottish Society of New Zealand, Mr Alister Miller, said yesterday that 19 bands had entered for the contest this year, about four more than the previous record. "These bands come from as far afield as Dunedin and Nelson,” he said. "Many of them iwill take part in the Dominion contest in Nelson * in March Which has 44 entries.” i
