Wall St record
NZPA-Reoter New York Wall Street hit a record high on Tuesday as investors bullish on the US. economy boosted stock prices to the biggest one-day gain ever. The Dow Jones industrial average jumped 54.14 points to 2237.49, only the second close above 22M. The 3*-share index closed at 22*1.49 on February 5, and the biggest previous one-day point gain, 51. M, was recorded on January 22. Three well-known analysts predicted further gains for the bull market as Wall Street seemed to ignore the insider trading arrests last week of three respected arbitragers from leading Wail Street houses.
