S.A. blames U.S.
NZPA-Reuter Cape Town South Africa’s Foreign Minister, Mr Pik Botha, launched a scathing attack on the United States yesterday, charging that the House of Representatives shared responsibility for killings in r South Africa’s black? townships. Mr Botha, referred to
Washington variously as hopeless, vengeful, and ignorant. He made it clear that his National Party would use anti-United States rhetoric as a tactic in the campaign for South Africa’s May 6 whites-only General Election. “I hold Congress responsible for the killing of
black people by black people ... it is not farfetched,” he said. By imposing economic sanctions on South Africa, Congress had encouraged black militants and made it more difficult for moderates whd.'wanted; as dialogue with the whiteled Government, Mr Botha said.
