PA Dunedin Bi Noble has sprung a tendon and he is unlikely to race again.

“He is under treatment with a magneto pulse machine but being a five-year-old and an entire, the odds against him racing again are slim,” said his trainer, Hector Anderton.

Anderton found Bi Noble with the injury in his yard on Monday after the acceptance had been made for the Carters Southland Stakes at Ascot Park tomorrow.

Bi Noble had pulled up sound after cantering on Monday morning having made a good recovery from a mysterious ailment that forced him to miss the Wellington Cup.

He was lifeless when finishing last in the Terrace Regency Handicap on the first day of the Wellington meeting and subsequently broke out in a rash. Veterinary advice attributed his problem to an allergy.

Bi Noble won nine races and gained twelve minor placings in 39 starts for $51,325 in stakes.
