Pediatric A.I.D.S. ward
NZPA Reuter Boston A Boston hospital has opened the first ward in the United States specifically for the treatment of infants with A.I.D.S. or A.1.D.5.-related illnesses, state and city officials said. The Massachusetts Governor, Michael Dukakis, said the four-bed ward at Boston City Hospital would offer 24-hour care to ill children, A
whose parents cannot offer a suitable environment, often because they are suffering from the disease themselves. “I know of no greater tragedy than the children affected by A.I.D.S. who are fighting for their lives. These children deserve to be cared for in a warm and loving environment,” Governor Dukakis said. V
