Waite ‘held’
NZPA-Reuter Beirut Two Lebanese militia chiefs said in Damascus yesterday that the British hostage negotiator, Terry Waite, missing for 14 days, was not a hostage, but had been arrested. Walid Jumblatt and Nabih Berri, leaders of the Druse and Amal militias, did not say why or by whom the special aide to the Archbishop of Canterbury had been arrested.
