Ltd is New Zealand’s leading aquaculture company. This new position is in the Feed Division which produces all the feed required for our sea-cage, ocean ranch and hatchery operations from a recently rebuilt plant in Christchurch. The appointee will provide technical support to the Divisional Manager and the small production team. This will include evaluation of present and alternative feed ingredients, responsibility for a quality control programme, investigation of different diets and feed production technologies, and operation of a least cost computer programme. The position calls for a person with formal qualifications in an applied science, with experience in nutrition or biochemistry and use of microcomputers an advantage. We are looking for a person with a high level of initiative and interest in this developing field. A competitive salary and benefits will be negotiated. THE TREASURY BUDGET LIAISON OFFICERS THERE ARE TWO VACANCIES in the Fiscal Affairs branch of the Treasury for Budget Liaison Officers. The successful applicants will form part of a small unit which oversees the forecasting and review of the Government’s annual expenditure plans and produces the Estimates of Expenditure and other Budget documents. The duties of the Budget Liaison Officers include programming the annual budget cycle, obtaining expenditure forcasts from Government departments and co-ordinating their review within the Treasury and Government departments. The Budget Liaison officers will also deal from time to time with the Government Printing Office and Minsterlal staff. The successful candidates should possess communication and organisational skills as well as an ptitude for figure work. A tertiary qualification is desirable but not essential. These positions represent an excellent opportunity for persons interested in the machinery of Government and the process of policy information to work at the centre of the budget process.
