High jump record
Thomas Patton (New Brighton) cleared 1.93 m for a new Canterbury under-16 high jump record at the Canterbury Children’s Association under-16 and grade-14 teams competition at Queen Elizabeth II Park last Sunday. This added a centimetre to the record he set before Christmas. Canterbury Blue won the
teams competition with 41,555 points, with Southland second on 40,882, Canterbury Green third on 38,005 and Canterbury Orange on 37,116. Two grade-14 best performances were recorded. Manuella Kenel (Cashmere-Hill-morton) cleared 1.59 m in the high jump, and Rhys Bateman (Avon) long-jumped 6.26 m.
