Church leader free
An anti-apartheid church leader, Dean Tshenuweni Simon Farisani, has been freed from detention in a South African tribal homeland after international protests, the South African Press Association reports. It was the fourth detention without trial for the 39-'year-old Lutheran, who alleged that he was tortured during previous prison spells.—Cape Town
