Author to keep property
PA Auckland The British author, Jeffrey Archer, says he will not sell the Whangaparoa Peninsula property he paid $2 million for in the midst of New Zealand’s America’s Cup challenge. “It is a good piece of land and the Commonwealth Games are coming up so I am not
unduly disappointed (that New Zealand was unsuccessful in its challenge),” he told the “Auckland Star.”
Mr Archer was reported to have invested in the land 48km north of Auckland at the end of last month. He would confirm then only that he had made the
investment and still will not say where it is or if it is developed.
Mr Archer said it was not true he had bought the land with the America’s Cup as his sole motive.
"I haven’t seen that written anywhere, but if it has been it is certainly not true.”
