Recent video releases from RCA/Columbia/ Hoyts include:— “Abducted” (R) — Based dn a true occurrence, this film tells the story of a high school and provincial running champion kidnapped in the Canadian Pacific Northwest Renee Aldrich was 17 and on a training run in mountain terrain. She was kidnapped by Vern Wilson who shot dead a man who tried to rescue her.
Wilson was eventually killed by his own father, but not before a series of dramatic events had unfolded. This film is made all the more compelling by the fact that it is based on a real-life drama of the enslavement and abuse of a young girl. It stars Dan Haggerty (TV’s "Grizzly Adams”), Roberta Weiss as Renee Aldrich, and Lawrence King Phillips, and is directed by Boon Collins. “The Noah’s Ark Prin-
ciple” (PG) — The year is 1997 and miles above the Earth the Florida Arklab,' a joint EuropeanAmerican space station, is conducting experiments on the Earth’s climate and weather conditions. The station’s crew of two, Max Marek, an experienced scientist and Billy Hayes, a young technician, receive orders from mission control in Houston as they monitor the largely automatic functions of the vast station.
One of the key experiments involves the use of. a high-energy neat beam that could, if improperly used, cause catastrophic destruction back on Earth. Suddenly their orders from Houston change, and Max and Billy face a dreadful decision. But will they both come to the same decision or does one of them have a secret so awful that it could change the future of life on Earth?
"The Noah’s Ark Principle” stars Richy Muller, Matthias Fuchs, Franz Buchrieser and Aviva Joel, and is directed by Roland Emmerich.
