Threat to resign
NZPA-Reuter Karachi Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan has threatened to resign from the forthcoming tour of India unless changes are made in the squad. In an airport television interview on his return from the Perth Challenge tournament, he said he was not consulted on the selection, announced on January 6. He said it lacked experience. Imran, one of the world’s top all-rounders, said he was a member of the selection committee and had experience of India. Pakistan television said Ghulam Safdar Butt, Presi-
dent of the Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan, had agreed to meet Imran to discuss the tour. ~- The B.C.C.P. named a .17strong squad for the tour, which begins on January 23. It included all 14 players who went to Australia, plus three recovering, from injuries and illness, spinner Abdul Qadir, batsman Salim Malik, and reserve wicket keeper Zulqarnain. ' Imran said he was satisfied with the way his team performed in Perth except for a batting collapse in the final when they were beaten by England.
