Aegean Princess trials well
By
J. J. BOYLE
Aegean Princess sprinted attractively in training at Riccarton yesterday as part of her build-up for the Kumara Nuggets on Saturday. A last-start winner at Timaru for the Peter Jones stable, Aegean Princess led her Kumara rival Dreamville by two lengths after running 1400 m on the plough in 1:28.65, the last 600 m in 36.25. Another Look got through her 1400 m in 1:34.65, the last 600 m in 38s. Her stablemate Secured Money followed with 1400 m in 1:31.4, the last 600 m in 38.45. Both will run for the Taggart stable at the Kumara meeting. Water Waggon, which won his first race at Kumara last season, and will return there for the McVicar Family Dash on Saturday, showed sharp sprinting prowess to reel off 600 m in 35.45. He will be making a fresh start on Saturday, but should have done enough to fit him for 1100 m.
