Rates ease a touch
PA Wellington Money market rates eased a touch yesterday in quiet trading, but dealers said the move was small and yields are expected to remain firm in line with tight liquidity management by the Reserve Bank. Call eased to 24.50 per cent from about 26 per cent 'at open which was steady against Monday, while 90-day bank bills were 24.35 per cent from 24.65 per cent.
Some dealers said limited buying emerged as nervousness about fur; ther rises dissipated and the market corrected back slightly from high rates struck in thin holiday trading.
