Bionic Chance gives brilliant display
Bionic Chance gave a brilliant display of freerunning pacing to outclass her rivals in the Anglo Pacific International Mile at Addington Raceway last evening.
After drawing the outside of the front line, she sped to the lead before the end of the first 200 m and from then on she was never really at top and she completed the mile in Imin 58.785, twohundredths of a second inside the class record of Really Honkin and just outside Gina Rosa’s
national record for a filly of Imin 58.75. “She’s just brilliant. It was no great effort to her,” said Patrick O’Reilly, jun. “She felt a different filly than when she raced last Thursday and I had a job pulling her up afterwards she was so keen.” Bionic Chance will probably contest the D.B. Timaru Challenge Stakes, a $lO,OOO mobile start race over 2000 m at Washdyke on Friday. Although assessed at only C 4, Bionic Chance has now had eight wins
and seven placings from her 17 starts and she has won $140,235. Nardin’s Belle, after settling at the rear, did well to get up for second, three lengths from the winner and half a length in front of Sunset Panorama, which received a splendid trail. Luckyship Two came on well for fourth, shading Iffy Tryax. The first four to finish all broke 2min, which is of great value to Luckyship Two, which has been bred with Noodlum.
