Midget take-over

PA Gisborne Two Hawke’s Bay business partners, Colin Grant and Steve Todd, launched a takeover bid for the main honours at the New Zealand TQ midget championships at Awapuni speedway in Gisborne on Saturday. Grant won the title for the first time and Todd finished third with Lance Beale, of Auckland, second. Thirtyseven drivers took part Both Grant and Todd, who run a carrying business together, are seasoned campaigners in the event in which drivers race midget cars powered by motor-cycle engines.
