Townshend outlasts demolition rivals
Peter Townshend, driving a Humber Snipe, earned $2OOO when he won the Demolition Derby at Woodford Glen Speedway on Thursday evening. The event, which took 25 minutes to complete, attracted a field of 37 cars. Gerald Griffiths easily headed home the small stock-car fields in all three events,, while Kenny Hannah made It two out of two in the Sportsman class. ; Kevin Kerr led the saloon feature for several laps from Graham Cooper’s Cortina, until the VBs of Dave Parris, Warwick Leech and Neil Baldwin screamed past.
